We believe every family deserves access to the best in virtual tutoring, no matter their schedule or needs. Whether your child could benefit from one-on-one support or thrives in a small group, we’ve got you covered. Our flexible micro classes in reading, phonics, writing, and math allow you to invite friends to join at a time that works for your family, or you can have your child join a class with other students. With top-notch, personalized instruction, we’re here to help your child succeed in a way that works for you.

Getting Started

After you complete the informational contact form we will schedule a Virtual Meet to talk about goals, schedule, and other things. Your child will be invited to join the meeting so that they have input into the goal setting and are clear about expectations. To determine a starting point, you will be asked to provide copies of school data such as results of current standardized testing or other classroom assessments or report cards.

Tutoring sessions and classes will be held through Google Meet. Prior to the sessions, a quiet space should be set up where your child can engage in the lesson without distractions. All materials should be gathered before the session begins. Parents must remain present throughout the session.

Online Language Arts Microclasses

  • Learning to write a paragraph is critical because it forms the foundation for all writing skills. Knowing how to write a well-structured paragraph is essential in academic settings because it is a stepping stone for essays, research reports, and exams.   • This first phonics course will extend over 7 sessions to introduce digraphs (SH, CH, TH, and WH), consonant blends (bl-, dr-, etc), and long vowels, first with "magic e," and then an introduction to vowel teams. In addition, we will look at how "bossy r" can change the short sound of vowels in words like shark and hurt. There will be links to word sorts, activities and other hands-on materials to help learners practice blending, segmenting and building words.

    Course Dates: Tuesdays 4:30-5:30 p.m. 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 12/3, 12/10, 12/17

  • In this microclass, learners will improve their reading accuracy and speed while learning advanced phonics sounds (long vowels, diphthongs, etc) using an approach based on "set for variability" (the idea that letters and letter-combinations in English can correspond with more than one sound. There will be a weekly introduction to a new sound, including common spellings for that sound. Students will explore a variety of spellings of that sound, along with relevant rules and patterns. A corollary reading passage focusing on the new sound will be given for practice during the week. Learners will practice reading the passage. The following week they will read aloud their practice passage during the virtual class time.

  • In this course, learners will embark on a journey leading them through number realms, of adding and subtracting. Through a mix of mini lessons delivered through google slides, videos, number talks, and hands-on activities, participants will delve into understanding the significance of digits based on their placement within numbers. From regrouping to understanding the power of each place, this course aims to simplify and concretize the abstract concept of place value.
